Exterior coatings: why to consider fixings.
When we talk about façades clad with bricks, marble or stone slabs and other materials, bonded to the substrate mechanically or with traditional adhesives, we have to consider that over time adhesives degrade, metal pins oxidize, and the adhesion of the coatings may also fail due to traffic vibrations if the structures, for example, are located near a road.
The danger of accidental failures and falls of structural elements exists, and the risk of causing harm to people and property must be seriously considered.
At Resimix, which has also specialized for years in the coating of industrial sheds and in exterior wall coverings in general, for structural bonding we suggest injections of RESISYSTEM 312 or REPIKIT EP 312, thixotropic epoxy formulations with which metal studs can also be fixed.
You can useRESISYSTEM 310/312orREPIKITEP310/312, when the facings are large in size and fastening is done with stainless steel pins attached to the wall support.
These interventions do not require removing the previous coating.
Reinforcing the masonry while preserving the structure.
It is possible to intervene with reversible masonry reinforcement through frp without changing inertia or structural arrangement and preserving the shape of the building.
The procedure is carried out in several stages: it starts with cleaning the surface, then performs the equalizing fill with RESICEM 748 BM (a thixotropic, anti-shrinkage cementitious mortar with remarkable mechanical properties and resistant to sulfates, also used to restore concrete surfaces), to obtain an even laying surface.
Then RESICOL 115 (slightly thixotropic, epoxy resin-based adhesive) and the carbon tape are applied by roller.
Subsequent impregnation is always done with RESICOL 115, and quartz is applied on top to help the coating adhere with RESICEM 748 BM.
Consolidate masonry with RESIMIX products.
Also excellent for cladding shed facades, many of our products are designed to restore the mechanical properties of masonry and thus for structural consolidation.
The binder mixture we want to tell you about is RESIFLOW TX, which is fortified with superplasticizing and expansive agents, designed to be injected, reducing dripping and loss of material before curing.
During the injections into the holes, through a pump with a pressure gauge, the pressure must be kept constant until the mixture escapes from the witness tubes, which are removed after the masonry has been water-washed and hardening is complete. To grout the holes, we propose our RESIRIPRESA 901 mortar.
