At RESIMIX, we specialize in several products for construction and restoration, as well as for the rehabilitation of tunnels, bridges, and railroad armament. Among these RESIFLEX 156 is an epoxy-hydrocarbon formulation for which we are the only manufacturer and which is used not only in the railroad industry but also for filler pours underneath deck plates of bridges, columns, supports, and plinths, and for making deck plates and plinths for machinery.
Let’s take a look together at the application of this resin and its advantages in the rail transportation industry.
Above the concrete, below the track.
In the image RESIFLEX 156, an innovative formulation using naturally derived raw materials, is seen in orange between the rail and the concrete on which it rests.
The rails are represented by the two metal profiles: these can be connected perpendicularly by concrete joists or in some cases by plates in succession, forming a continuous thickness to the view.
The RESIFLEX 156 layer is located between this structure where the rails rest and the deck: it serves to compensate for small elevation differences and improve damping of vibrations that are transmitted from the rail to the concrete.
But let’s look in detail at the function of this special resin.

Why RESIFLEX 156?
This solution is chosen, for example, to facilitate trackside rescue vehicles. In some sections of high-speed lines RESIFLEX 156 is useful because it also provides high residency to the track, giving the brake a rigid plane that prevents movement so that the train runs better.
In summary, RESIFLEX 156 is a flexibilized resin that is used to compensate for thicknesses, to avoid air between the slab on which the rails are fixed and the deck, when traditional reinforcement is not used.
Interventions with this product are performed on bridges and especially in tunnels.
If you choose RESIFLEX 156 you are on the safe side!
This resin, designed and produced by our experts, is useful for
- compensate the shims to leave no air gaps (so as to ensure full support of the rails),
- Protect the structure from stresses and consequent vibrations,
- Increase strength and durability.
