Many building facades are cladded with bricks, ceramic tessera and mosaics, marble or stone slabs which are glued to the support mechanically and/or with traditional adhesives. With time, the decay of bonding agents, the tarnishing of metal pins and vibrations caused by traffic can greatly reduce adhesion with the risk of accidental falls of objects which may harm people or other objects. Structural gluing of masonry cladding is done with the injection of thixotropic epoxy compounds and/or metal pins fixed with RESISYSTEM 312 o REPIKIT EP 312. This type of operation is not invasive and does not require removal of existing cladding.
In case of big size facing, Resimix has developed a fixing technology with stainless steel pins fixed to the masonry support by using thixotropic epoxy compounds like RESISYSTEM 310/312 or REPIKIT EP 310/312. This system blocks the stone facing in the original position thereby avoiding expensive disassembly operations.
