Concrete used in bridges and road and motorway viaducts is subject to chemical corrosion phenomena due to the presence of polluting gasses coming from the exhaust pipes of vehicles and the use of anti-freeze salts which, once dissolved in water, percolate from plankings.
Restored concrete must therefore be treated with colored varnishing products which adapt the esthetical appearance altered by restorations, block the carbonation process of cement paste and preserve the concrete armors from corrosion.
The varnishing cycle suggested by RESIMIX (which is also called epoxy-acrylpolyurethane cycle) creates an extremely light and UV-fast film with excellent esthetical features which are resistant to weather conditions: bottom layer - RESICOLOR 451, water epoxy enamel which acts as a primer; finishing - RESICOLOR 475, solvent acryl-polyurethane enamel.
