FRP masonry reinforcement takes a conservative route in reinforcing the structure because it does not alter inertias and structural tilt of the construction and recovers form effects.
Such reinforcements are not reversible and therefore ensure preservation of the work.
To achieve an effective reinforcement, the substructure must be as regular as possible: for this reason after cleaning the surface to remove the most incoherent elements, i.e. decaying plaster, a balancing fill with anti-shrinkage mortars with low elastic modulus is done.
In case of cracks, it’s necessary to proceed to structurally glue them before proceeding with the reinforcement operation.
